Here you can learn more about me and my work. You can learn more about the courses I’ve taught and also look at my list of publications. You may also get a glimpse at things I find interesting.
I am currently working as an Associate Professor in Electrical Engineering at the Satya Wacana Christian University, Salatiga, Indonesia. My main research interest is in Image and Video Processing. My Master’s thesis is about video compression while my Ph.D. dissertation is in Image and Video Watermarking. During my Ph.D, I worked with a multi-national team to develop a way to benchmark the performance of Image and Video Watermarking algorithms. The project was funded by the European Union and was called CERTIMARK. From 2009 to 2011, I did a research in Face Detection and Recognition. The research project was funded by the Department of Education of Indonesia, under the National Strategic Research Grant. The research project had been successfully concluded (it received an award as one of the best National Strategic Research projects in 2012). I have been publishing my work extensively. A list of my publications can be found here. I am currently the chairman of the Video, Image and Signal Processing (VISiO) Laboratory, a Research Center performing research in digital video, image and signal processing.
If you are a student looking for a Final Project (or Thesis) advisor and are interested in the general topic of Image and Video Processing, then let’s discuss some possible topics. You can contact me personally or via email at: iwan (dot) setyawan (at) ieee (dot) org.
